Why tall people earn more money
Why tall people earn more money

You probably heard already that tall people make more money, but why is that? Most tall men, obviously are perceived more powerful, strong, maybe even smarter. For a man to look tall is always good, most men want to look taller. What about tall women? Why would tall women earn more money?

In my opinion and from personal experience, tall women make more money because they are expected to. Being tall and having good looks makes people expect more from you than from others.

I remember I wanted to help people and make them happy, so I took one simple job, but instead of appreciation, I got a comment that I'm just wasting my time doing it.

I was really confused and surprised by what I heard. Why I am not qualified to do a simple job and make someone happy? Why people expect from me more and tell me I'm wasting my time doing my job. All I wanted is to get appreciation for some simple tasks I did. I definitely wasn't for that for a lot of money, but wanted to help someone.

Prejudiced in a society

So, I was faced with prejudiced, someone tried to tell me something by saying that I'm wasting my time at that. I also had people tell me that I should be a model instead of work that I am doing. So, all of these indicated that people didn't treat me the same as others.

They don't understand that all I wanted is just to be like everybody else but my height and my looks made people think that I should be doing something different with my life. People categorized me that I should be doing modeling or some other interesting jobs than where I was. So, it made for me harder to fit in and stick to a job when I wanted to help others.

Maybe that's why tall people are forced to pursue lucrative and interesting careers because they don't get appreciation and recognition from simple jobs. It makes me feel like people expect more from me because of my looks.

Being tall and beautiful makes it harder to live a simple life. People around you wouldn't allow you to live a simple life and would always remind you that you don't really belong there. They do it out of good intentions, but it's still prejudice in some ways and unfair treatment.

Another judgment that I was faced with based on my looks that people think that I'm not married and still in college, so people love to categorize others. Tall men and tall women are probably expected to earn more money or expected to have better jobs and etc.

Not all tall beautiful women have a privilege to look dominant and powerful, but more expected to do modeling as their career. Getting to modeling isn't that easy as most people think especially when you live in a smaller town. People ask me a lot if I am a model and it's really nice of them to think that. I tried modeling before and if it was that easy to become a supermodel as people think, it would be much better.

For a tall man earning more money based on height has even bigger potential. Tall men are perceived more seriously, they have deeper voice and perceived as someone who has leadership skills.

Tall men with very deep voice gain more respect easily. For tall women it's harder. Tall beautiful women aren't always perceived dominant and don't always have a deep voice.

So, from everything I described above, makes it more clear why tall people, especially tall men would make more money. If you are perceived as a powerful person, if you are perceived as a leader it would be easier to take a powerful job and more more money. Tall women are expected a lot too from society, so it's all comes down to that tall people do make more money.
